Mapflow and NAVTEQ launch most detailed national map of Ireland

Dublin, July 2007.

Mapflow has partnered with NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of premium quality digital map data, to create and publish the most detailed street level map of Ireland, including Northern Ireland.

Mapflow’s data content manager Richard Toomey explains “This new map shows street level detail of anywhere in Ireland - main cities such as Dublin and Belfast and smaller towns and villages such as Dingle on the south west coast - for the first time. - The map offers all of the main features that one can expect– with the added bonus of building outlines and points of interest in many areas.

Toomey goes on to explain “most national mapping agencies have update cycles of at least 5 years; a key reason for Mapflow choosing NAVTEQ as a partner for this map is that they provide up to 4 updates per year”.

The map will be of interest to public sector agencies, retailers, banks, taxi firms, logistics companies etc.  Mapflow has already seen strong demand for this new product, from existing flagship customers Hibernian Insurance and MyHome.ie.
